Unlined canvas. Minor buckling to canvas in upper left and right corners, visible under raking light. Minor frame abrasion at right edge. Extremely slight yellowing to the varnish layer in some areas. Finely patterned craquelure throughout. A very few pinpoint dots of loss, most notably two near center of upper edge. Minor surface dust. Not examined out of frame. Under UV: varnish fluoresces green unevenly. A few scattered dots and dashes of retouching at edges. Two thin horizontal lines of retouching, each approximately 3 inches in length, in upper left and right corners, respectively. A very few small dots of finely applied retouching to the central dog's proper right ear and upper shoulder. A very few additional scattered small dots and dashes of retouching in the background.
