• Spontaneous artistic virtuosity meets the raw materiality of the “décollage.”
• Tearing the paper away layer by layer, Asger Jorn reveals an imaginative motif that straddles the line between abstraction and figuration.
• “Spontaneity and expressiveness”: the stated goal of the “CoBrA” artist group, which Jorn co-founded in 1948.
• Created in the 1960s, when the artist was intensively exploring the “décollage” technique.
The work is registered in the Jorn Archive, Silkeborg (Museum Jorn). We are grateful for the kind assistance.
