Property from Provocateur, New York Provocateur, a renowned NYC nightclub known for its unique atmosphere and "jet-set" clientele, was opened in 2009 in the city's Meatpacking District --transforming was explicitly exclusive and attracted prominent A-list celebrities such as Leonardo di Caprio. In 2013, Peter Beard was commissioned to produce a series of monumental photographs -- Large Mugger Crocodile, Circa 15-16 Feet, Uganda (1966), Akaeyee (Lake Rudolph) (circa 1972), and Turkana with 14-inch Neck (circa 1972). All were displayed at Provocateur for two years. Initially conceived as an exhibition, it gradually transformed into an integral part of the décor, evolving into a full-scale installation. Directed by Peter, the space was enriched with plant life, merging art with environment. The club became his world, and this became one of his final major installations in New York City.
